  1. House of cards was really a shame, such a cool show. I like that they tried to go on without Kevin Spacey but the storyline was just wierd. I honestly don’t even remember the finale because I just watched it to fi ish the series.

  2. Definitely some surprises on here. Didn’t think Mythbusters took that much of a dive after the build team left. Also surprised at the dip for Sex Education which I thought wrapped things up pretty nicely. The 100 I expected to be even lower. God was the ending to that show awful.

  3. I really felt this with house of cards. Couldn’t even bring myself to finish the last season. Show was over without spacey

  4. This is awesome! I wonder what the reverse would look like? Like shows with the highest positive gap. Would be interesting to see because i would think that the gaps would be much smaller overall.

  5. You should somehow control for shows that just had bad final seasons vs bad finales. Maybe also include average finale vs final season average without the finale?

House of Cards finale isn’t that bad itself its just that the entire final season with Spacey was bad.

The Promised Neverland, Killing Eve and Dexter should be the actual top 3.

  6. The 100 should have ended like 2 season earlier without any planetary and wormhole stuff. Ending on a note of destroying the last habitable place on Earth would be such a great and poetic ending.

  7. Promised Neverland hurts so bad. I always heard how bad it was, but I watched Season 1 in a single day last weekend.

We were *robbed* of a second season with these characters and that world.

  8. I want to see the opposite of this list. What are the shows that are really with sticking with after a god awful first episode?

  9. Can we instead give the Game of Thrones finale a 0.0 and coin a new term for screwing up a finale “Going on the Throne” like “Jump the Shark”?

  10. So glad I dropped promised never land midway through the second season.

GoT… I unfortunately saw that dumpster fire

  11. Surprised to see Ragnarok on here. I didn’t think that was a very well known show. The graph is right, though; the ending sucked as though they had to fit a couple planned seasons into one season they didn’t think they were going to get.

  12. I think it’s worth to distinguish between a bad final episode and final season. GoT of course being an infamous example but you can see with Scrubs or House Of Cards that the final season in which they tried to replace their main character with a complete shift in narrative didn’t work in the first place.

Meanwhile shows like Blaklist and Two And A Half Men show a clear dip on just the final episode.

As for which one is actually worse… who knows.

  13. What was that Scrubs bomb in season 6? It looks like the biggest one episode drop and recovery

  14. If anyone has seen the 4 season of umbrella academy I’d throw that on here too. Seemed much more rushed, and ended in a way that wasn’t satisfying at all.

  15. Been re watching Mythbusters on YouTube. Absolutely loved this show as a kid and still do, what was so bad about the last couple of episodes I’ve never seen them? They just run out of ideas?

  16. I wonder why peaky blinders isn’t mentioned. The last season (and finale) was pretty ass

  17. I think we comfortably can add Top Gears last Seasons as “worst season ending”

  18. HIMYM should have ended two seasons early. Barney should have broken up with Quinn because he was meant to be with Robin, his soul mate( that he definitely wouldn’t have divorced after seasons of what they went through) and the mother should have survived her Cancer bout and been in more scenes with the full cast so it didn’t look weird that she wasn’t in the wedding photo for the shitty finale episode. That ending still pissed me off. I honestly haven’t given CBS sitcoms the time of day since then.

  19. The only two on this list that I think are unfair are Good Girls and Westworld because both shows were cancelled and ended on cliffhangers before they could actually wrap up with decent endings.

  20. I’m still pissed about that last Veronica Mars episode.

Welp guys we have no idea how to make a couple interesting now that they aren’t stupid teenagers… So let’s just kill one of em and fuck the entire fanbase who are the really reason we are able to do this season in the first place.

  21. Glad to see Lost not on here. I, for one (might be the only one), thought it was a good finale.
