Ukraine, Russia exchange POWs as Kyiv marks Independence Day | VOA News

Ukraine and Russia conducted their first prisoner-of-war exchange since the beginning of Ukraine’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk region. The swap bore symbolism for Ukraine as the country marked its 33rd Independence Day. Anna Chernikova reports from Kyiv. Camera: Vladyslav Smilianets.

  38. Only at the end of the report do we learn that 115 Russian conscripts returned to their side, exactly as many as to the Ukrainian side. This makes the report not very factual and neutral but at least the information was included. When there is a prisoner exchange, it would seem normal to immediately give the terms of the exchange.

  43. Dura learn English better, it’s not an investment in the war prisoners- it’s a lie and a loss of many Ukrainians life’s in Kursk which will be liberated by the Russians but thousands of Ukrainians life’s will be lost

  44. It’s sad that they even have to fight the war, when the best solution is to negotiate. Why is the US and other allies supporting the continuance of this war, and not negotiating? Defense companies are making a ton of money off selling the government weapons, with our tax money.
