  1. >Brentford will receive a fee of £40million for the striker, who will sign a four-year deal with his new club. Combined, the fee and his wages will make it a £100m move.

  2. So all that talk of him wanting to leave Brentford to win trophies was just bollocks then?

    Greedy gits.

  3. Only 40m tells me that all the big clubs had zero interest in signing him. That makes me think he probably hasn’t changed much or has other issues existing. Clubs definitely know something, if no-one is taking a risk.

  4. God damn. That’s another name off my list.
It’s OK. We’ll look at another gk.
I joke but I mainly stress

  5. good for him for securing the bag, at the end of the day medals aren’t paying the bills like most of the people here assume?

or yall think that football players should only look after fans and satisfy their obsession with winning trophies and achievments

  6. According to the Athletic podcast Toney’s never actually signed a Premier League contract. He is on £20k/week, or little over £1m/year. Which is lower than low for a striker of his quality and number of goals scored. And of course, taxes take a good chunk of that.

His deal was improved with Brentford since they went up for the 2021-22 season, but he hasn’t earned close to what similar players have gotten. There’s recent youth academy graduates and Championship players who earn way more.

I think he could’ve signed for a bigger club in the league or in Europe before heading to Saudi Arabia, but that offer is on the table NOW and at 28 I don’t blame him for getting the bag while he still can merit it.

3-4 years over there and down the line if he’s still knocking them and healthy I can see him coming back to finish his career at home.

  7. Well played Ivan. You’ve secured a massive bag and you can gamble to your hearts content.

  8. Goodbye and good riddance.

Anybody willing to travel to Saudi Arabia with their human rights record when they are already incredibly wealthy is clearly a greedy bastard.

Especially when you have options in the Premier league and elsewhere.

So shame to lose the talent. But I hope he enjoys a good kick about with the lads while he plays football closer to Sunday league than Champions league.
