  1. Recently been to Ahmedabad for some work on the weekend the Paris Olympics were supposed to end.

That city is NOT fit for Olympics bruh. Not gonna be for a VERY long time. The Olympics is not just about the sports complex but also about hospitality and hosting people from all over the world.

The travelling fans would be absolutely miserable.

  2. I also found out Sebastian Coe, probably the next head of IOC recently praised Budapest and said the city is ready to host the Olympics. So I think Budapest might be one of the biggest competitors here along with Santiago and Istanbul. Its also in European timezone.

The only backside could be that Hungary’s nominal economy might too small to host the Olympics. Its even smaller than Greece, the smallest economy ever hosted the Olympics.

  3. Hungary is the nation with the most all-time Olympic medals to have never hosted the Games. From a sports perspective, they absolutely deserve it. But of course, other factors weigh more heavily.

  4. Stupid question – where would the sailing events be taking place?

I would also assume that surfing would be off the agenda.

  5. Budapest is an absolutely fantastic city, it would make a great host city if the infrastructure could be put in place, but could Hungary afford it?

  6. Edit: Maybe the title should have been changed as “Budapest Considers to Join the Race” as the news is about Budapest Mayor supports the Olympic bid if more funding would be ensured to Budapest.
