I’ve watched Wagon Wheels decline for 30 years and this is a new low.

  1. My first memory of Wagon Wheels (late 70s?) was the fake ‘chocolate’, made them taste weird. Not a fan.

  2. No. They were always rubbish. Mocolate, weird soft biscuit, American style white sugary fluff in the middle. They can naff off now just as they could naff off in the 70s

  3. I can’t even find those ones anymore, the shops round here only seem to have the ones in the blue wrapper with jam in the middle.

  4. I remember back in the 90s/ early 00s they used to be the size of saucers. Either that or I was just smaller myself.

  5. Go swimming, get a Wagon Wheel out of the vending machine afterwards. Classic part of my childhood. Wagon Wheels and Wotsits.

  6. Honestly i never thought they were great, always seemed like cardboard with an insultingly thin layer of nasty chocolate to me.

But personal tastes are a thing. Haven’t eaten one since the 80’s.

  7. I remember when the entire planet was a giant wagon wheel. Parents would let their kids out every night to graze on the Blessed Wheel. It was a time of peace and plenty. Nobody fought and nobody quarrelled. It was truly a golden age.

  8. I remember liking them, but the other comments actually remind me that they were kinda naff.

  9. It was the case that the chocolate of a wagon wheel did not melt in your hand. It was a bit of a selling point back in the day, I’m not sure if a modern wheel is still un-hand-meltable.

  10. Jam ones are better, though I’ve never been big on Wagon Wheels anyway.

Look out for their jammie teacakes. Those are good. I like them better than Tunnocks.

  11. Original wagon wheels were at least 6 inches wide and 5/8 ths thick. Man size. Back in the day when you only put a Texan bar in the fridge if you plan to grow new teeth.

  12. I love Wagon Wheels and buy them regularly. S tier snack, really underrated. Blue ones, obviously.

  13. Wagon wheels were always shite, they weren’t enormous either, you were just smaller.

Sure, they’ve likely decreased in size a little since the originals, but please take of your rose tints, they were mid at best. Who the fuck likes soft biscuit!?
