Of course, the design is shit and the price is expensive, sure they’re cutting costs everywhere. Lol, for example, in my Škoda Superb, there’s now only one umbrella instead of two, and they made the flashlight in the trunk non-removable. Keep up the electric madness so that no one buys from you.
it is because of pressure from Chinese EV companies
So the German economy is not going to come back to life anytime soon? Yikes for the whole EU
Maybe it will be a good thing for Europe to become a political and industrial backwater. Hopefully Chinese tourists and Indian tourists in the future will bring us money.
Biggest market for them is China and they are losing ground there because they ignored electric vehicles for too long. Karma. Even in Germany there cars are way too expensive for the quality they provide.
They were earning from China and they lost it. They will lose like Nokia. Europe is losing to China.
Maserati in Modena is dying too, if that makes you feel any better! The Mirafiori factory in Turin is our last hope :_;
Fucking cars are stupid expensive. A california beach van 48k euros? With forced Hybrid version? Thats why people are turning to the used market.
I was looking for a family car and saw there is VW ID7 as a great family car.
After I saw the price I am no longer looking. We will take the bus and be happy that we still have money for fun activities because we didn’t spend it all on a car.
guys they only made 4.6 billion euros profits in the first quarter they re basically going bankrupt good thing they didn’t wanna fire hardworking people.
Sounds like a message to the government for some tax cuts or the like.
Too expensive!!! Please wake up car dealers!!!
That’s… Unfortunate.
Sanctions working great! Europe is slowly deindustrializing and will never be a future competitor to the US.
All according to plan.
Perhaps Germany should have jumped on the whole digitalisation bandwagon thirty years ago instead of still using a fax machine to this day.

No more nuclear power plants to close?
Maybe growing watermelons could be a good option for Germany too?

I guess $66B of profit last year just wasn’t enough to make it worth it.

VW will make more profit closing the factory than keeping it running. So no worries, there will be positive revenue
