Is it the first time you’ve been shopping by yourself? This is the case for most supermarkets.
Although some have specific basket vs trolley self checkouts.
I was today years old when you reminded me about this.
Anyone taking a trolley load into the (basket) self checkout area is a twat. I guarantee everyone who has to squeeze past the huge amount of space you’re taking up and wait for you to scan your weekly shop so they can buy a meal deal absolutely hates your guts
Didn’t know they sold bricks in Sainsburys
Yep, same in Tesco
Oh super, I’ll tell the next bunch of dickheads who park their trolly in the middle of the self checkout isle like the own the place.
Self-check out tills are for a few items or a basket, not trolley! Don’t be selfish
ASDA too, but only certain ones, depends on how worn the wheels are, bent the trolley is etc…
I’ve studied this.
That’s handy!Supermarket hacks FTW.
They think of everything!!! Except re-stocking the biscuits aisle this week
Who are ye who has unlocked the forbidden knowledge ?
We have a **trolley** self check out , and a **basket** self checkout. There must be a dozen signs between the two.
Still get Muppets taking up half the checkout with their trolley in the basket till, as it doesn’t fit. When there’s multiple, you struggle to get past.
Annoyingly, it seems the basket one is always busier so it’s not like they are skipping any queues.
Not at all of them. Doesn’t work on half the tills in Falmouth.
They used to be signposted like this when they were new, but I think it’s be one less of a priority since self checkouts got more popular and they’re started to separate them between trolley and basket checkouts. I’ve noticed more and more checkouts no longer fitting the trolley like this.
Same in Tesco and asda
Yes, but if your trolley is quite full all your shopping won’t fit on the other side. Or it will fall off. I only recently found out that you can ask the robot till minder to tell the machine that you are taking a whole bag away from the bagging area so you can carry on scanning.
Most supermarkets have this.
Aldi don’t allow trolleys at the selfies
I cannot wait to try this.
There’s literally self-service areas for trolleys
No need to delay people with a couple of items in their hands or a basket, with half a weekly shop in a shallow trolley
