“Humans can survive whole days without food, shelter or internet, but they can’t last long without water. Which is why it’s so weird that American humans keep rushing to live in places where water is increasingly scarce. The latest dry hot spot is Texas.
“Texas towns join a long list of increasingly [hot, dry locales](https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2024-02-12/climate-change-arizona-is-smart-about-water-it-should-stay-that-way) with booming populations, renewing questions about why Americans keep migrating so relentlessly [toward the climate crisis](https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2024-08-08/why-are-americans-so-willing-to-move-to-disaster-zones) instead of away from it. People escaping wildfires and high housing prices in, say, California are moving into the path of new disasters, with fresh opportunities for [financial ruin](https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2024-08-02/a-1-trillion-time-bomb-is-ticking-in-the-housing-market).”
It’s like feeding birds. You drop the crumbs and they will come.
Americans are suckers for real estate.
They should just pray away the bad climate
There is no good way to become more like arizona
I escaped in 2022 but it took me a year of looking around the country to find a place.
I mean I guess Florida being under water and Texas becoming more uninhabitable are pluses or climate change
