Hello insular indian ๐ซก
Curious from a High mountain gayreek.
>conquest large part of the Mediterranean
>makes cope and seethe others just by existing
>former territorial possession adapt their religion, writing system and culture
i mean i see the similarities
Yes, and georgians pretend not to be russian
Zebbi (the Arab guys in my town use this word a lot towards passer-byโs)ย
This is actually a really interesting case study on the impact LARPing. Because Rome really wasn’t a European empire as much as it was a Mediterranean empire. In 600AD, someone in southern France would’ve had more in common with someone in Tunisia than with someone in, say, Denmark. Heck, North Africa, Egypt, and Anatolia were some of the Empire’s richest provinces.
However, after the Arab conquests, the Mediterranean got essentially carved in half. Because Rome Christianized just before it fell, Christian Europe kept fawning over it. Meanwhile, in the Middle East and North Africa, ppl didn’t LARP as Rome but as the Caliphate. So Rome’s legacy became “Europeanized.”
Wait until you hear about these Germanic tribes who hated Roman Empire for centuries, and Roman Empire hated them for being filthy barbarians only for the same tribes in Germany to start larping as Trve Roman Heir.
I tought it was only the Calabria Saudita, but looking at Milan maybe times have changed
Arabs I don’t know but the Ottomans sure did
Yeah its why they wear the hijab (i’m actually being serious)
