Joe Biden is poised to lift a ban on [British Storm Shadow missiles](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/08/27/uk-backs-ukraine-use-storm-shadow-missiles-russia/) being fired into Russia by Ukraine.

The president is considering changing policy after it emerged [Iran is now arming Russia with ballistic missiles](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/09/10/russia-new-missiles-from-iran-to-be-used-against-ukraine/), which could be used in Ukraine within weeks.

Antony Blinken, Mr Biden’s secretary of state, is due in Ukraine on Wednesday with David Lammy, the Foreign Secretary, to discuss lifting restrictions with Volodymyr Zelensky.

Mr Biden and Sir Keir Starmer will then discuss changing the policy in a White House summit on Friday, Mr Blinken said, adding that the president was “not ruling it out”.

The delivery of new Iranian arms to Russia is thought to have prompted fresh discussions between the US and UK over [the use of Storm Shadows.](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/08/31/ukraine-storm-shadow-missile-russia-uk-france-usa-mald-harm/)

“Russia has now received shipments of these ballistic missiles and will likely use them within weeks in Ukraine against Ukrainians,” Mr Blinken said on a visit to London on Tuesday.

“This is a threat, not only to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, but to all of Europe.”

  2. The condition will be no final approval until Russia actually uses the Iranian missiles. Everything has to be in response to a Russian escalation. So, once again, Putin has an opportunity to back off and not make things worse for his country.

  3. How does Biden have say on Britain’s missiles? Read the article and still doesn’t make sense.

Edit: found a little more detail online. It’s funny how people are arguing with me just because or putting up conjecture as fact. Essentially the storm shadows in this case would need to rely on U.S. reconnaissance, intelligence, and classified systems to avoid Russian jamming. The U.S. did not help manufacturer or design storm shadow missiles. They have no financial stake in it. My conjecture is they use a U.S. classified gps system resistant to jamming.

  4. I wrote to my MP about ten days ago to push for this.

This is obviously all because of me.

    You are welcome Ukraine.

  5. Iran with their shipment of double-edged swords.

Now the UK should prepare to send their entire inventory of Storm Shadows.

  6. The fact that America can tell Ukraine what to do with BRITISH missiles is proof that America’s stranglehold on the West needs to end. Time was, America had stronger leaders who were more worthy of the role of leader of the free world, but the cabal of cowards in DC have no right to tell a warrior nation like Ukraine what they can and cannot do.

  7. Don’t know why this wasn’t done MONTHS ago like in fucking May when he authorized strikes in Russia but only in certain areas. I’m fucking over it. Biden says he’s trying to help Ukrainians and the Republicans aren’t, but Biden literally has the ability to end this war and has done the bare fucking minimum. Until Ukrainians stop fucking dying I don’t want to hear about Jack shit. Our largest rival for the past 80 years invades a SOVEREIGN EUROPEAN NATION and we act like cowards??? What happened to the leader of the free world? I never thought I would see the day when a sitting US president dictates to another nation how they fight for their independence. Our enemies are laughing at us and it’s honestly embarrassing.

  8. Sorry, Brit here so it’s gonna be salty,..

what the f**king F*#ckity f*ck do American See You Next Tuesdays have to do with what Britain does with it’s own missiles, missiles developed by Britain and France, not the U.S.
