  1. Man, Money Heist’s popularity always intrigued me. I watched the first season and it was absolutely *amazing*. I just never picked up the 2nd season when it came out. The fact that the FIFTH season was one of the most watched Netflix shows ever really makes me realize I need to keep on watching.

  2. Was “Wednesday” a cultural phenomenon like Stranger Things and Squid Game were? I vaguely remember there was some song/dance from “Wednesday” that blew up… did that alone propel it to almost 0.7B above Dahmer?

  3. Other than the herd instinct, is Squid Game really worth it? Was thinking of it when I saw a list of series everyone ( but me) has seen.

  4. You know, I kind of slept on ‘Night Agent’ and wasn’t really interested. I randomly decided to watch it recently and it’s honestly pretty good.

  5. This only further justifies my belief that Arcane is one of the most underrated pieces of TV media of the last decade. The writing, art and polish that is in that show is insane – and for it to not even brush top 10 over something as… (sorry to all the fans but) something as boiler-plate as “The Night Agent” is insane.

  6. So is this just recent shows? Or are you suggesting Stranger Things season 4 got 3x (or more) the views of season 3? Because that seems unlikely to me…

  7. Is it only recent shows ? Funny how shows like Breaking Bad or La Casa de Papel didn’t make it to this list, although they were pretty popular back then.

  8. So, which of these are good in your opinion? Queen’s gambit was nice for me. La Casa de Papel and Squid Game I didn’t like.

  9. would be interesting to see this metric relative to the number of subscribers. seems like newer shows are overly represented as the number of subscribers increased overtime

  10. I was gonna say I’m surprised Squid Game won, but considering most of these are either movies or Seasons you can only watch if you’ve already seen a lot of the show, it makes sense.

  11. For those that loved Squid Game, you should check out Alice in Borderland.

It’s a Japanese story of the “death game” genre. There are 2 seasons right now. I’m not sure it there are any intentions to create a 3rd season, but the story is entirely self-contained in the 2 seasons that are out. No real unanswered plot points.

My parents and I binge watched the entire season 1 until 2am. Which I couldn’t believe they wanted to keep watching past 10pm, but it was really good!

  12. I will never forget the day I saw a show called The Queen’s Gambit on the front page of Netflix. I am a chess player and a chess fan in general. I was about to go to sleep and the next day I had work at 9:00 AM but I saw a show about chess came out so I had to check it out. I never do this but that night I watched the entire show from beginning to end non-stop and didn’t get any sleep. No regrets

  13. Cant believe how popular porn has become (not you Queen’s Gambit). Murder porn, gore porn, wealth porn. Y’all need some help is all I’m saying

  14. Might favorite Netflix show is Mindhunter. I wish it had more views so it could get a third season.

  15. Watch time in millions of hours… so squid game was watched for 2.2*10^15h, 2.2 peta hours ? Sure…

  16. Queen’s Gambit is the best of them.

I see the name “Money Heist” and get mad. It’s painfully generic and makes me think that not a single bit of creativity went into it. Then again, I know good shows get stuck with shitty names.

  17. Squid Game has 2.2 billion million hours watched? That means the average person has spent 31 years watching the show.

  18. And here I am hoping to see Mindhunter getting some much deserved love, but no. This series is criminally underrated.

  19. Arcane should be up there, it’s so damn good! Regardless of what you think about League of Legends!

  20. I’m honestly surprised that Cocomelon is not in this list. Last time I saw a similar chart, I believe several children’s shows made the top 10.

  21. I am surprised “Tiger King” is not on the list. Or are we not counting docuseries, because thats the only thing I watch on netflix.

  22. Am I the only one bothered by the x-axis label at the bottom? I don’t see any other comments talking about it. It says “Watch time (in millions of hours)”, but the numbers aren’t in millions of hours, they are just in hours. Squid Game wasn’t watched for 2.2 billion million hours, it was watched for 2.2 billion hours.
