so fun fact, on weekend they use to use the Electric Pendalinos for North wales services for the better kitchen and lack of diesel smell on the electric part, at crewe they would attach a locomotive to the front to drag this electric train on the unelectrified north wales lines, these locomotives were know as thunderbirds and given names refrencing the TV show
Llandudno is remarkably well preserved as a Victorian seaside resort. Bits are shabby but on the whole it’s really nice.
A personal favourite is a pint at the end of the pier, Irish sea in one direction, mountains in the other.
Needs more jump scare
Alright money bags!
I love train travelling, just hate expensive train tickets.
I remember when this was all ancient forest! /s
Same! It gives me a hit of nostalgia being on long-distance trains in the UK. We used to go to Dawlish every summer as children and seeing the sea appear was fucking magical.
The only thing better is long-distance trains in Japan. They’re very comfy, quiet, luxurious and you get what you pay for, relatively affordable. Also nothing beats going on the Shinkansen! Oh and if your train is late you almost always get your money back!
I’ve always wanted to to on the Alaskan Railroad… maybe one day

Train Bingo…how many did you get…someone’s farted, a kid get on with no ticket, a posh man has an expensive picnic from the food carriage, a kid crying, railway graffiti and a randos chewy under the tray.
When HS2 is built you’ll have the delightful experience of seeing nothing except the walls of a tunnel. They buried the whole thing through the most scenic parts of the country, at extortionate cost, just to please a few NIMBYs
Can’t beat British transport, Nothing compares to the feeling of getting stabbed for 20 qid
Me too, except when I can’t get a seat and have to stand in the vestibule. Though the view does offer some solace
Yep, great when you actually get on the train with seats spare / it’s not delayed by 30 mins!
Best way to travel.
I went to manchester yesterday from kent. Ticket cost £127.
A bloke from glasgow got a train ticket for £25 to manchester. He did have a railcard tho.
