Satisfying Sunday, I finally managed to piece together a pot from shards of pottery I had been collecting from a recently turned farmers field.

  1. That is actually so cool.

I’m jealous of your patience and tenacity.

Without using Google, I think it’s a Japanese thing where when they repair broken ceramics, they use gold.

I’m guessing maybe not real gold but maybe you could use gold leaf over the breaks?

Would look beautiful and make an amazing talking point.

  2. That’s some patience! I have a favoured mudlarking spot which has thrown up shards of pottery, and I’ve often wondered if I’d ever get even two matching pieces.

  3. Amazing work. Been digging in the soil myself and finding some cool artifacts, clay pipes, bottles etc

  4. Put gold in the cracks the highlight them – I think it’s called Kintsugi and is a Japanese tradition, it’s really beautiful.

  5. Fantastic. I mean, I’m terrified, this is the hobby of a proper psychopath, but still, fantastic
