Not a person we need in the forces at this point unfortunately, if his willing to Awol his duty for this crap, he’s gonna been seen as a risk to national security because his only got his own personal gain in mind not the defence of the the country, yes the pay from the show is a nice touch but that opens up questions to how far he’d go for cash, this is just an opinion of course but we have to look at the facts

People were executed for this not much more than 100 years ago (going Awol that is, not appearing on MAFS)
I wouldn’t advocate it, but 24 days in MCTC for fame and future opportunities? It might jump start something for him. Honestly doesn’t seem that bad. It’s not like they can beast him much in MCTC, he’s a fucking body builder.

To expand: the armed forces have a policy of giving young people leave to participate in sports, or to do things that are “cool”. For example, my mate was part of a group of squaddies that got paid to cycle the entire route of the Tour de France. Basically its supposed to drive recruitment.
Wouldn’t the standard policy be just to let him participate in the name of good PR?
The producers could have prevented all of this by simply requiring a copy of his leave approval paperwork. No paperwork? Dismissed from the show. Easy as.
Colchester is a breeze. It’s not like civvie prison, he will get beasted for a few weeks but that’s it
To be fair “dumb” is a prerequisite to join these shows.
