Are germany’s 7 semester bachelors degrees equivalent to USAs 4year degrees? I was reading and it mentioned that since germany is part of the bologna system they are equal, but I later also read that the 3 year degree +1 year masters is what is equivalent

7 semester bachelor degree?
You mean that you took seven semesters to finish a normally 6 semester degree?
A normal German Bachelor’s is six semesters and 180 ECTS points. With G9 being reinstated, that also puts you at 16 years of formal education. I’m not sure what your sources are and I’m also not an expert on this particular topic, but I know quite a few people who went on to do their Master’s at a US university and none of them had begun a German Master’s beforehand.
I would imagine it depends on the programme you’re interested in – if it requires the equivalent of 180 ECTS or of 240 ECTS.
