I didn’t think she was a girl either when I saw the picture.
Border guards need to know who they are dealing with. She looks like a man and is listed as a female. Given the security threat Egypt faces confirming the identity seems to me like a normal thing. Would I like it…no. But I’m struggling to see the issue here.
Seems like those of you with issues are essentially saying that Egyptians are savages and thus shouldn’t enforce Border security on their country….
I’d like to see the passport photo before I make any judgements, I’m certainly not taking the dads word for it.
It’s very likely she looks almost nothing like her passport photo.
We all know why no one had any issues on the British side.

Hmm Egyptian authorities have a history of doing intimate checks on womens genitals, whilst stating an official reason. It happened a lot to female protesters in the last 10 years. Virginity tests, supposed checks for sexual assault when actually the test was the sexual assault.
Horrific crimes against women involving such checks.
I would be very careful as a female travelling to Egypt.
Every single person I interacted with in an airport in Egypt was a complete scumbag, so I’m not surprised in the slightest.
Their country their rules, western countries routinely put other nationalities through much tougher restrictions
But when the gesture is returned it hurts

Absolutely unbelievable the amount of people in here who think it’s acceptable for two grown men to decide they need to remove a child’s clothes to check what genitalia they have.
Arguing that she doesn’t look like her passport photo is a total red herring – If customs officials are not happy that the person in front of them is the person who the passport belongs to due to her appearance, how is looking at her genitalia going to address that? All that would tell them is that she’s a girl, not that she is the passport holder.
All the gremlins here “oh she looks male so it’s fine they wanted to look at her vagina”. No that’s not ok.
I don’t visit countries like this for a reason.
This is why terfs are brain dead.
There’s no long term plan of transphobics that doesn’t involve trying to justify making women strip.
Having been through two Egyptian airports, the knack is to look like your sex. Because to be fair to them, it took me a minute to figure it out.
