Can we have a moment of silence for the residents of Cirencester & Faringdon? They would appear to have been frazzled.
I’m smack in the middle and it just passed over. Bloody amazing! I have never been in a thunderstorm that strong. Constant rumbling thunder, massive booms from nearby lightning and hammering down with rain. Went on for about 45 minutes?
Also shoutout to my neighbour who, for some reason, stuck their hand out the window to spray window cleaner in the middle of this. I’m not sure that’ll work as intended but hey, smarter not harder etc etc.
What exactly did Gloucester do? why is it being smited? wtf?
Yeah it’s not much fun driving up the M5 right now. Glad we’re turning off in a bit
Right in the middle of this and was convinced the hail was going to smash my windscreen. Absolutely biblical.
Another one who’s currently In the middle of this. Within minutes roads in Matson turned into small rivers and drains erupted like geysers. Was pretty crazy. Now up in Tewkesbury and it’s being smote hard
Man, I hope I get to see some. It’s been calm in Portsmouth so far.
I’m at Chelt General, trying to leave work 😭
Got woken up by what sounded like an actual explosion, scared the shit out of me.
Not near me sadly 😕 but might get lucky later. Tomorrow looks a bit stormy too.
I’m in Dorset and the promised thunder has [so far] completely passed us by
I had that storm around lunchtime in Reading, I was amazed there was so much hail in September
Why do we NEVER get the good storms where I am. Gah! And me with this badly assembled collection of body parts that needs animating as well.
What’s the website that you show?; I think we are due a storm up here in Lancashire and it would be cool to follow it.
Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very frightening me!
We’re in Oxford. Had a few drops and a little distant thunder but that’s it. Absolutely nothing to write home about.
I live in Gloucester, right in the bloody white there! It’s still raging on hard and I love it. Had to cycle home and was just laughing out of sheer terror with every strike.
Someone trying to open a door to another realm again?
K’chow ….
Here in Twigworth ( Gloucester) we got it pretty bad with a bit of hail thrown in.
I’m in Cheltenham. we had a brief power blip and the phones stop working
Annoyingly i was working and thought the noise was just people playing sports as i was working in an event room in a sports centre from 2pm-4pm, and also drilling holes in a wall, so i missed the most exciting part. Instead i caught the end of the rumblies as blue sky started to reappear…………… I love a good storm 🙁
Mental in Gloucester this afternoon, never known thunder and lightning to go on two hours straight.
Ah man, jealous. Love a good storm and been a long time since we have had one here in the east.
Now I want that to come down south a bit more, just below Bristol.
We never get it here in the Midlands. Last time it was promised I watched the tracker avidly and saw it veer east a few miles before it reached us.
Dude I was kinda looking forward to the storm, but I was in oxford and it was dry as hell. Most I got was higher humidity
I got caught in that, was a little bit hairy for a short while. Roads were so badly flooded that I couldn’t see the centre line markings, which is always a bad sign.
