  1. Where is it? The ones in Greenwich Park will actually come looking for you because they are so used to being fed.

  2. There’s as many nuts come off a plane /train/bus as off a tree, and the ones off the plane/train/bus will feed you better!

  3. Not sure where this is, but I used to live near Valentines Park in Ilford, and not only were the squirrels tame there (one even ran into my jacket pocket to look for food once) the ones in my garden just down the road weren’t shy either. They’d scratch on the patio doors to ask for food.

I’ve been feeding squirrels in that area since I was a little boy and you can buy squirrel food from the park cafe, so it’s a long-standing tradition. They expect nothing less.

  4. That’s London squirrels. I got mugged by squirrels in Brompton Cemetery, the ones that live near me in Peckham are bros, I’ve had ones in St James Park actually climb on me.

  5. Many don’t. I regularly feed the squirrels in Holland Park. They’ll often come right up to you and take monkey nuts out of your hand.

  6. They meet and get fed by literally thousands of tourists a day. They know you’re not going to hurt them.

You’re wildlife migrating for the winter as far as they’re concerned.
