Trent Alexander-Arnold on the biggest factor deciding his future (he becomes a free agent in 2025): “I want to win trophies. I’m a player who is motivated by winning things & being elite. If you’ve a personality that’s elite, who wants to win & will do anything to win then that’s what drives them”

  1. He has won trophies though. And objectively I think Liverpool could be in a good position to win more in the next few years.

  2. Leaving for Madrid would be deciding to play on easy mode. If he does go, would also really put a blemish on his whole “it means more” quote.

  3. In the same interview he said something about how his previous contract extensions hadn’t been played out in public and “this one won’t either”, and also said he wanted to be Liverpool captain. Using this quote in the title is misleading.

  4. Yeah, at this point you’d be safer to put £ on him leaving for Madrid then staying.

“Look, I have been at the club 20 years now. I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public. This one won’t be either”

Not that any player should owe a club anything financially… but he’d be doing Liverpool a solid by extending for at least a year. That way some kind of fee is paid for em this summer. He’ll make a ton more as a FA though.

  5. All the constant talk from my Kopite mates about Jude coming to them because of all the clips of them hanging around each other in the England camps, when the reality is it was Jude convincing Trent to join him at Madrid after he’s signed for them. Ouchy. Local lad as well leaving them on a free for Madrid? Steve Mcmanaman all over again.

  6. He’s a phenomenal player, best in his position imo, I’d be surprised if he does go Madrid as I could see him spending his whole career at Liverpool and captaining them, but I’m convinced Liverpool will go back to their pre Klopp era before long. Any club would be lucky to have him.

  7. My Liverpool mate is convinced he won’t leave and if he leaves he will 100% sign an extension so Madrid has buy him.

He’s delusional he’d force his new club to do that if he decides to leave, right?

  8. Don’t think he’s particularly unhappy at Liverpool, but leaving as a free agent next summer means he’d get a huge signing on fee at his next club which must be tempting.

  9. I think he leaves. He’s about to be 26, in his prime. Not sure he has the time, or patience, to be part of a project. I think he’s a perfect replacement for Carvajal. He goes to Madrid or Bayern imo. Hard to imagine him at any other club in the prem

  10. The only team which can suit him pr afford him is Madrid . But there is still time in that , I reckon a few more years .

  11. Missed the part where he said his main goal is to be Liverpool captain. All of you are so silly thinking he drops all his dreams to go be football friends with Jude. Every single player says it’s out of their hands when it comes to contracts. He wants to stay at his boyhood club, the club just haven’t opened negotiations yet because since FSG have been at Liverpool, they’ve famously left contract renewals to the final six months. It’s all just nonsense talk from a bunch of people who desperately want him to leave Liverpool, but are also the same people who say he’s awful. Class player, living his dream, he won’t leave, new contract around February/March. And all the Liverpool fans, you sound so stupid when you say “FSG are greedy, they won’t offer him a new contract because they want to pocket the money.” They’d make far more money giving him a new contract and selling him. Use your brains. Bunch of morons talking about this shit for months now and know fuck all.

    Edit: spelling mistake
