Anyone with half a brain knows no technology exists that can detect something recieving signals.
Quite the Orwellians our beeb, anything to keep the money flowing in and going to flamboyant nonces.
The old Mk.1 eyeball driving round estates looking for antennas.
There were very very specialised mechanisms for reading displays on CRT screens which is why some MOD and GCHQ screens were “storm proofed” It was proper high end spying stuff and not something that you’d drive around suburbia peeking at Mabel at 57 Acacia Avenue.
They will, however, catch you logging into iPlayer with your email and ip address. So, be warned.
