Stopped and chatted briefly with this guy and asked him how long it took to learn how to ride his Penny Farthing – he said no more than 30 minutes if you already know how to ride a standard push bike.
I don't think I would ride one around London but then haven't been on a bike for 30 years but was nice to see someone happy and enjoying life in London.

This would upset a lot of people.
I’m all for it.
Would I ride one? No. Do I love to see it? Absolutely.
Oops dunno how to edit to add but forgot to mention posted with permission from @londonlister on TikTok
I wouldn’t ride one anywhere…
Most modern Londoner
Beautiful, I don’t think I’d have the skills
how does one get on and off that bike? (other than “very carefully”)
I’d be seriously worried about hitting a red light & having to track stand it for two minutes.
No its just silly
It is bi visibility day after all.
When your Aussie surfer hair do, Harry Potter glasses and WW1 moustache start to look dated, this is the hackney boy option to stand out from the crowd.
I shit you not I see 2 lads on penny farthings saying volleyball outside of a pub during the 2012 Olympics.
What? You don’t like the old timey bikes?
I saw someone (unsure if it was the same guy) riding a penny farthing up Putney Hill towards Wimbledon direction during the summer and he made it look effortless 🤣
So nostalgic.
I used to work in the GEC Research building in Borehamwood, which housed the paternoster lift used in The Prisoner., and cycled in most days. I never found out who owned the penny farthing that was often chained up at the end of the bike racks…
It was however most apt.

Horseferry Road. So he just went past the Department of transport. Apt.
I have always wondered how you mount and dismount the bicycle?
Imagine using your phone on Oxford St and this bellend rides past and nicks it
Petition for Lime to replace all their bikes with electric penny farthings.
Fun fact it is actually illegal to ride a penny farthing more than 8mph (if I remember correctly from the Max Fosh video)
Imagine seeing a roadman using this
One way for your bike to not get stolen.
I would never ride a man in London
