  1. My dad died when we were kids/teenagers and it definitely affected us all differently.

I was 11 so I was pretty mild, my brother who was 14 was a giant asshole and my sister who was 17 was an absolute monster.

My mom cut off outside activities and games/tv etc when things got really bad. My sister threw a party and the dog ran away and it was a big thing.

She forced us to do yard work every weekend and we were just stuck with her until it got better. Like a little group of shadows, we went to the store, church etc with her.

I think at that age, it’s really easy to get wrapped up in your own world, and not fully realize how everyone else is being affected as well. I know for my sister, seeing my mom breakdown because of the situation that she had created actually helped her realize that the only person she was hurting was her.

Actions have consequences, if they don’t want to take care of their shit then they don’t get it. It was the only thing that helped.
