King Charles Thanks Royal Navy Submariners During Special Visit

King Charles visited the home of the UK Submarine Service on Thursday.

His Majesty received a Royal Salute before being greeted by senior members of the Royal Navy.

The King met with submariners and their families at Coulport and thanked them for their service.

He also took time to visit one of the Vanguard-class submarines.

  17. My father was a sub mariner in Australia in the 1950s. Went to Korea got no pension. Was in the nuclear tests in Montebello operation. No pension/disability benefits for himself wife or family. Sub- mariners need to be looked after because they do not always risk their lives in a theatre of war, and pensions and other benefits in Australia accrue only to those who have. I hope conditions are better in the UK.
