Marc Casado put on a world class performance. Will he be a starter now that Gavi and De Jong comes back?

  1. A world class performance vs Getafe, I dont think he can bench De Jong if he is in form. He is one of the best players in Europe

  2. He’s one of those players that give me so much confidence. Press resistant players are my favorite to watch. Him and Pedri are my favorite duo rn it used to be Pedri Gavi 🥲

  3. Last thing we need to worry about is someone’s less playing time. It should be the other way around with all these upcoming fixtures

  4. Casado has been a pleasant surprise this season but he isnt as good as the ones you mentioned. I’m really happy with him as a rotation player though

  5. “world class performance”. Wtf kind of standard so we have nowadays?
Everything is world class this, masterclass that. It was a decent performance at best. Thats it.

  7. Gavi just feels like a quintessential Flick player, what with his unbridled intensity and hard work. Can’t see him not playing.

  8. If he keeps this up, anything is possible. FDJ and Gavi can’t walk back into the team which is good, they can be eased in.

  9. First thing we need to see is how good those guys come back from injury, not only physically but also mentally, also I don’t think making them start in every single game is the smart thing to do considering they come back from serious injuries. Having a good amount of players that are able to perform well is actually a blessing.

  10. We can start Gavi, have him run some motherfuckers down for 45min straight or as soon as he gets a yellow, then we put him back into cold storage and send Casado out.

  11. Competition is always good. It’s nice to discover some depth due to so many injuries, because it was looking like a weakness for us.

  12. He benches FDJ 😌
he’s better defensively and can also carry the ball. maybe not better than FDJ but he only keeps improving every game. Gavi and Casado as double pivots is what we need along with Olmo or Pedri sitting behind the striker.

  13. Guys with the number of games increasing, and players being more and more injured, this isn’t a problem. They will both have their playtime.

On the contrary, all the teams that won champions league recently had could align a world class 11 from their bench.

  14. As impressive and surprising as he has been, he’s probably the 6th choice midfielder when everyone is healthy.

There are 3 starting spots: AM is Dani’s spot to lose and he’s a locked on starter when fit. Fermin is likely his backup but Pedri, Gavi, and even Raphinha can play this spot, so an injury to Dani does not immediately get Fermin into the XI.

The higher role in the pivot will almost always be Pedri; again, locked on starter when fit. All 3 of Gavi Pedri and Frenkie will likely play this spot. If Casado gets many more minutes, it’s probably here.

The deeper pivot is probably going to be Frenkie once he’s back, but it’s between him and Gavi and I wouldn’t be surprised if Gavi ends up securing his spot there because he’s more effective at defending than Frenkie. If Bernal weren’t injured, he’s probably playing more often than anyone else and was definitely ahead of Marc. There’s also a question of whether Eric or Christensen will still be used here once we have a full squad.

Unfortunately for him, Pablo Torre goes to the shadow realm after Ferm and Gavi are back. Casado is really only ahead of Pablo unless Flick doesn’t rate Fermin.

Even though they play on different spots on the field, my feeling is that Casado is competing with Fermin for minutes and will have to make his mark when he gets chances to play. Luckily for him, we have a lot of games to play and Frenkie will likely run out his deal and leave on a free unless he has a change of heart and wants to stay.

  15. We have so many games. If anything our squad depth in midfield is amazing and we can actually rotate players.

    In centre mid we have

    Pedri frenkie who can rotate

Gavi and casado who can ball win

Pedri and olmo for the 10

Fermin xan also play as an 8 and a 10 and a ball winner even if hes still raw.

Ideally their all fit and can rotate and whenevr ones gassed out we throw another one without losing quality on the pitch.

Id love to see gavi and casado or frenkie gavi or casado frenkie with olmo/fermin/pedri as the 10.

  16. Casado is a real fighter, he had offers from many clubs to play in Primera but refused them to one day play in the first team. There are not many players like him, and I hope he can stay with us for a long time.

  17. My favorite thing about Barca is the seemingly endless flow of talented young players out of La Masia.

At that age I could barely get my ass out of bed to go to school 😂😂

  18. Flick does such a good job, depth will be a good issue to have. But even with Bernal people were asking where Frenkie will fit. Hopefully they offload him in the summer and these kids continue to shine.

  19. The schedule is insane now. Everyone will get rotated constantly. He’ll start some and be benched some.

  20. I think Flick will depend on rotations. The fittest players at the moment get the start. At this moment, our front three need rest before the Bayern Munich/El Clasico fixtures.
