  1. Not surprised whatsoever that the UK isn’t featured, as per usual our government sold it all super cheap and well below market value.

  2. Does the Russian number include the Romanian gold they had for safekeeping, then sto… Ehm, confiscated?

  3. Does this count gold owned by each government or merely held by each government. The US federal reserve holds massive amounts of gold from foreign governments where they decide the US is a more secure or a safe secondary location a good chunk of their gold reserves, but it still belongs to the foreign govts.

Not sure the specifics of how they are tallying this.

  4. Interesting. Potential dissolution and peacekeeping/administrative mission into Russia could put European countries much closer to US in terms of reserves and influence. Of course China and Japan would need to get their cut as well at the minimum.

  5. No big gold mines and yet, we have the 4th reserve in the world. There must be something wrong and I’m opened to get to the bottom of it.

  6. I highly doubt Russia’s numbers are trustworthy. They have been lying like crazy for way less important matters.

  7. And all the gold in the chart above wouldn‘t even fill a third of an Olympic-sized swimming pool

  8. If it’s gold holding, wouldn’t then be UK? Like alot of countries have thier gold locked there to back up their curency of the top of my head i can say Romania and Venezuela has all their gold there+alot of other countries. The wording in the title might be wrong.

  9. There is a chance that Turkey will take over the tenth place. I read a week ago that the Turkish central bank is also buying tons of gold right now.
