  1. I love the tactical aspect but the article focuses more on player comparison than the actual tactical set up of the team.

without Kylian Mbappe the team is playing pretty much the same as it did with him under Luis Enrique, the major changes I’ve noticed so far have to do with having an actual left winger who can actually play the position both sides of the ball.

as for the midfield Luis Enrique is still doing the same when vitinha is playing he gets flanked by 2 defensive midfielders to hide his defensive shortcomings, WZE on the right covers a lot for Dembouz, Hakimi and vitinha. while on the left Neves and Fabian play more of a classical b2b covering for Barcola whenever the left wing gets caught out. when the midfield composition changes the role change as well like for example when Kanginho plays in a midfield 3 the midfield reverse to regular roles creative/6/b2b.

as far as the defensive line goes we still see a classic line of 4 with one fullback being free to attack, in our case Hakimi, while the other fullback stays home, either Mendes or Beraldo.

as far as what we do on possession Luis Enrique likes to play from the back but we have no real 6 and our GKs Gigio and Safonov are really not that good with the ball on their feet so most times you see whoever’s playing the 6 dropping down alongside one more midfielder.

without the ball our pressing/counter pressing has been constantly improving obviously better now with Barcola instead of Kylian who never defended. the bad part is that our team still gets lost on defending set pieces. in midfield vitinha playing the 6 is an open lane and I wonder what Luis Enrique will do the further we go in CL. also its very obvious Beraldo does not feel playing as a make shift left back and that is a concern with Lucas out with a long term injury and campos who was horrible during the mercato at actually covering the squad’s holes.
