Cause it all goes to greed drunk share holders that don’t work at those places and are basically like invisible slave owners. That’s our economy.

Big pharma, Ukraine, Israel , and the military industrial complex run our government. Their priorities are NOT the same as the priorities of average Americans, hence the disconnects enumerated here.
It all goes to insurance, licensing, and investors. The regulations in place force daycare providers to spend a shiat-ton of money on stupid stuff. And the nursing home thing is just a morbidly cruel dying place to enrich whoever was wealthy enough to build the place. (God, I hope he’s merciful enough to take me out boom outta here insteand of having to suffer through that).
Still, the whole system is designed to trickle money up through a thousand papercuts. We have commercialized “the village” that it takes to take care of each other and forced those who do to pay the wealthy to make it happen. We’ve lost out damned common sense I understand it and see how I myself am sucked into this system, but at the same time, I wish we could just be a community that lives as a community for the community’s sake – not just all money based.
This is what treating land as capital, does to a mf.
It is the original sin. Taxing economic rents is more important than raising the minimum wage or banning corps from owning houses.
My favorite abuse was the Covid PPP funds. Nursing homes kept working and they took millions of dollars because they stopped working??
