If possible, always write down which region you come from. There will definitely be regional name differences (like everything that has to do with food).

I would guess that it’s a Cabanossi.
Harte Wurst
There will be regional different names as those regional sausages will be different in taste, ingredients and how they were produced. This sausage could be anything if you dont add where its from. You can’t tell by the looks of it.
Where I come from this is called „grobe Bratwurst“ or „Hausschlachter Bratwurst“ or „Bratwurst Ring“
In an area in Saxony-Anhalt between Halle and Sangerhausen (Mansfeld Südharz) they call it “Bratwurst”. And yeah I know it seems stupid but that’s what they call it.
Knacker
In eastern Thuringia we call that ‘Bratwurst’.
‘Knacker’ or ‘Knackwurst’ would be something similar but not in a ring but straight and much harder / dryer. If you keep a Bratwurst long enough in a dry place it will eventually shrivel into a Knackwurst.
Harte Mettwurst or Knackwurst
Unox rookworst
“Die da! Nein, die rötliche, dieser Ring…”
This could be a “Geräucherte Kohlwurst” (Smoked Kalesausage) as well. The one must have item for good Grünkohl ( Next to Rauchende and Luftgetrocknete Kohlwurst)
Wirschla
Kackwurst.
Mettwürstchen or Mettenden. Just ate one, they are great 🙂
I am from the Ruhrgebiet / Münsterland area.
bierknacker
turkish people call it “sucuk”
Schinkenwors.. and it goes well with Erdbeerkäse
Hartwurst
I Love that there are 1000 correct answers.
Rote Wurst/Ahle Wurst is also a possibility. May also be Wo(r)scht instead of Wurst.
I know this as Mettwurst
it could be a cabanossi
Dürre
Are you talking about the shape or the content/taste?
People are giving you the names of types of Wurst that is sold in their region, and they will taste differently. Not like Spaghetti Alfredo is different in each restaurant, but like Spaghetti Alfredo and Spaghetti Bolognese are different.
The word für the shape is wurst **im Ring**
U-Wurst
Das ist eine Art von “Geräucherte Hatwurst” oder eine “Rohwurst” würde ich tippen
Common in Turkey, We call it “sucuk” here
Looks to me like kielbasa or kovbasa, depending on if you are from Poland or Ukraine.
I’m gonna say “Sucuk” just to get cancelled.
Not sure if it’s exactly the same, but I think I’ve seen them being called Polnishe Wurst or Krakauer in Berlin. Google give some similar ones by searching Krakauer im Ring.
In Thüringen or northern Hessen, it’s also called “ahle woscht”, which means ‘old sausage’.

The image you uploaded is from a store, selling Thüringer Knackwurst: [https://www.lzmechterstaedt.de/onlineshop/detail/thueringer-knackwurst-frisch/](https://www.lzmechterstaedt.de/onlineshop/detail/thueringer-knackwurst-frisch/)
where i’m from we call this a **knackwurst**
It’s actually called Bratwurst in my neck of the woods (not to be confused with Rostbratwurst). Example: https://thueringer-wurst-verkauf.de/produkt/thuringer-bratwurst-ca-500g/
Knackwurst
We call it Mettwurst, northern Germany.
I don’t know but looks tasty

It’s air dried, not smoked.
