Do you think Ansu Fati will return to his best?

  1. I dont think he will but I dont think don’t we necessarily need him to. As long as he can perform better than Ferran, he will be valuable.

  2. Give hime time and give him slowly more and more minutes on the field. He needs to gain back his confidence and he still can be a great player. Maybe not the same as it was projected before, but he has talent to do so.

  3. He wont be as explosive as he initially was.. but I don’t see the harm in playing him over ferran tbh

  4. If he regains his confidence he can be solid but I don’t see him being great.
He was never very fast or skilful like a Yamal.
He did find the back of the net often tho. He is good as a 9 or even better as a second striker but to be great at that position while being small in stature you have to have amazing skills and power, which I never saw that in him.

Yes he was exited at the beginning as he was only 16/17 but at 21/22 to be great as a 9 compared to other 9 across Europe you have to bring something special to the table.

He looks like a Roque to me.

  5. I hope he gets the chance (meaning the minutes and health), but I don’t think we should expect the best is the same as his former best. I think he’ll get a slightly different role, but if he starts scoring he has good chances to be good enough again. I’m sure we’ll be better off with him on the left than Ferran.

  6. It’s uncertain! I hope he does—he’s only 21, so he’s got time. I really want him to play well

  7. Flick is very impressed by him, so I think if Fati continues to work hard he will succeed and return to his best. As of now, Fati has a lot of work to do if he wants to be a starter.

Whether he returns to his best here or at another club, I’ll always support the guy.

  8. Impressed me more than ferran in the little cameo although that might be due to tired legs and young boys giving up hope.

  9. Think ansu might be better as a cf then a lw. Unless he can link up liek he did pre season 23/24 with balde super well. But thats just more on balde again.

Ferran can be cf with fernandez cousinsnon rw and the 10. Lw ansu/ pau victor can also play all attacking roles. Would be nice to rotate have them get game time that way.

  10. I don’t think he will. I’d still like to see him get more bites at the apple though. There’s clearly still some talent there but if he never gets a chance to get in rhythm, we’ll never know.

With the lack of attacking depth though I’d rather see him be the first guy off the bench for the left side

  11. He should be retrained as a ST. He doesn’t have the acceleration he used to have, but his one-twos and positioning would work fine as a ST.

  12. He’s not as explosive as he was before, and I think that’s why he can’t seem to beat his man. He might be a solid option as #8 or #10 for a mid table team although I can’t envision him claiming a spot in this team’s already stacked midfield. It’s sad that he likely doesn’t reach his potential but he can still have a very respectable career

  13. Flick should play him on the left idk why was he playing him like a CAM. His strengths were never passing or building up the play. He had amazing positioning, finishing, and good pace. That isn’t something being utilized in a CAM position. Either in LW or Striker which was the two positions he played in his prime.

  14. He made a run yesterday and started touching his knees immediately, there is a potential for sure, he was better finisher than Yamal is but the physical factor is huge in his case.

  15. No, but I think if he gets to 90% of where he was, he would still be a great player.

  16. I don’t think he’s gonna be the same type of player he was before the injuries, but if he’s getting consistent minutes and remains injury free (anuló mufa), by the start of the second half of the season I believe he’ll a very useful player for flick, probably a consistent starter on the left (in the case that raphina is used as CAM and not LW)

  17. Nope. Ansu is slow and does not have size and strength to compensate for the lack of speed. The injuries utterly wrecked the kid.

  18. Not to his best but given Flick’s words we should be able to get him at least to 60% what he was, and that is already enough to make him a starter.

  19. Despite all the talk of his speed and whatnot, I think Ansu’s problem is mental. He’s afraid to go all out because of injuries. He needs to regain the confidence to play without fear and thinking of if he’ll get injured again

  20. The only thing holding him back is himself. People often blame his injuries when it comes to him not returning as a the player he was, but in my opinion, his strengths were never his physique, but positioning, awareness and goal scoring instinct. That’s something a couple of knee injuries shouldn’t take away from you. It’s all in his head. And if it’s all in his head, it’s more fixable.

  21. Not really, those injuries look like they will keep bugging. He looked like he got injured in one of the first plays when he came on against young boys. I’d rather keep him over ferran tho.

  22. There’s not enough sample size but he can’t run like he used to so he needs to adapt or reinvent himself to be an integral part of the team. His ball striking and passing are top notch and he associates with balde really well, these are in my opinion where he should focus on and staying between the pockets. Small distance dash and attacking the pockets are where ansu could shine, hope to see him in a similar situation
Also the 20+ minutes he got was much more impactful than whatever ferran has going on in the flank
