India to host first ever Kho Kho World Cup in 2025



  • 24 Countries from 6 Continents will take part
  • 16 Men's & Women's Teams
  • Goal to make Kho Kho recognised as Olympics sports by 2032
  • Aim to register 50 lakh school students across major cities before World Cup

Ahead of the World Cup, the KKFI plans to take the sport to 200 elite schools across 10 cities to promote the sport. The federation will also run a membership drive for the school students with the aim of registering at least 50 lakh players ahead of the World Cup.

"Our ultimate goal is to see Kho Kho recognized as an Olympic sport by 2032," says KKFI President.

  1. Obvious ignorant question…but what’s kho kho? History, rules etc.

    I honestly feel world games and even commonwealth games could and should be making these fringe sports central. I have no idea what this is…but I get the feeling I will become super competitive and want to cheer team gb on in it already!
