Saw this in M&S for the first time. First time seeing this combination for a sandwich. This a thing?

Yes. It’s a really fine sandwich.

I have been out of the country a while
Has M&S really sunk to this level?
Yeah one of my favourite sandwiches. Only seen in it m&s though. Im sure the cheese uswd to be wenslydale though and not mature cheddar
I’ve seen this in a few shops before, but am not a fan myself!! I think it’s considered quite an ‘afternoon tea’/’teatime’ sandwich
I’d give it a go.
I remember M&S used to do a cheese and celery sandwich back in the late early 80s. Unlike the current one the two ingredients were grated and mixed with mayonnaise.
I think that was back when M&S first stated doing sandwiches, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen the combo anywhere other than M&S.
I agree that this is actually a tasty sandwich and the only reason i surmise it’s not sold is that given choices, buyers may have gone for the more “traditional” options or the “eyes bigger than the belly” choice of a BLT etc I know that bigger outlets like M&S spend millions on marketing and advertising, know trends and “their customer base” but honestly, I think when you creep over the £3.00 threshold for a simple sandwich, cheese and celery isn’t going to be the consumers first choice. Maybe I’m totally wrong but if it were say £2.40 when freshly prepared, that would possibly give the customer a nice problem to have. £1.60 I would be having it and if there were a second pack, I’d take that one too.
Used to be my favourite sarnie years ago, I for one am glad it’s still going 🙂
It’s reduced though, obvious value.
That sounds amazing. Do they have one with cucumbers?
I might try making this for lunch tomorrow
*chefs kiss* best sandwich there is
I’d rather eat nothing. What a depressing sandwich
