  1. ***The Telegraph reports:***

[Weight-loss jabs](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09/04/mounjaro-weight-loss-jab-changed-my-life/) will be rolled out across the NHS for the first time in an effort to tackle obesity.

Health officials have announced plans to offer injections of Mounjaro – [the most effective on the market](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09/12/women-weight-loss-jabs-slim-faster-than-men-mounjaro/) – to 1.6 million people.

NHS England proposed that the jabs should first go to those likely to achieve the greatest clinical benefit.

This means they will first be [offered to the most obese people](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09/11/i-can-now-see-my-jawline-again-thanks-to-my-weight-loss-jab/), with the most health conditions.

Over the next three years they would be offered to almost a quarter of a million people with a BMI of 40 or more, plus other health conditions.

The phased rollout would see 1.6 million people offered the jabs over 12 years, including those with a BMI of 35 or more, and weight-related health problems.

The proposals are now subject to a three-week consultation.

Until now, the use of injections such as semaglutide and tirzepatide has been heavily restricted on the NHS, and only offered to patients via specialist clinics.

  2. It’s probably not even a weight loss supplement. It’s probably the rest of the Covid jabs they need to get out

  3. Did anyone else immediately think of the Simpsons episode where Homer became obese on purpose?

  4. Gosh, a lot of miserable people still clinging to the idea that fat is a moral failing.

If you need to feel superior to others this desperately, maybe look around and think about what is missing in your own life.

  5. It’s always interesting to me how judgemental people are about medical intervention for obesity. The same people typically are fine with treating people with lung cancer after years of smoking.

I guess some addictions are deemed more acceptable than others.

  6. I take Mounjaro via an illicit source which I am not condoning.

It is absolutely incredible in how it affects your appetite. The lack of thinking about food constantly is just an amazing feeling and allows you to concentrate and enjoy other things in your life.

People will say you can lose weight without this and it’s ridiculous to take it and that is true. However I’ve been thin without this drug and it feels miserable. What this drug does is allow you to use your willpower on something else other than struggling all day ignoring chocolate and the 9 thousand other temptations. I think of it like taking paracetamol for a headache.

You don’t need to take paracetamol, but fuck me does it make your life better when you do.
