I’m performing Richard III at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast if anyone fancies it.

Well. I'm an actor and a writer – I've posted about a few different shows on here before – My Left Nut – theatre, My Left Nut – TV, The Alternative.

I've been knocking about acting and writing for a while, but last February I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Obviously this was absolutely shite craic – I'm now full time in a wheelchair. But the disease hasn't been showing any symptoms in my upper body yet, which is a good sign. But aye – trying to make lemonade out of the horrible lemons – and to that end I'm going to be performing as Richard III at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast. We open on Saturday 12th October, and run until 10th November.

Get tickets here, watch the teaser trailer here.

Few articles / interviews about the show:

But aye – would love it if people came along. Myself and the director Oisín Kearney have adapted the script ourselves. AMA about Shakespeare, or having a terminal illness, or whatever.

  1. Oh wow. Hope it goes well. I’ve no clue about Shakespeare – need to be more cultured!

  2. The thought of shakespeare takes me back to the GCSEs 🥹

I was going to ask when/how the MND came to light but I read the BBC article so I’d just like to wish you all the best for the performance 🙏

  3. In Malaysia so won’t make it but have a great show man. Fuck the illness and just enjoy yourself.

  4. Already have tickets for a Sunday performance. Looking forward to it 🙂

    Best of luck 🙂
