  1. What an absolutely pointless “study” with no benefit to anyone. “This just in, newer technology costs more money.”

  2. If you were to see this study 15 years ago, it would say wealthier people have a higher carbon footprint due to buying more luxury cars. Not to mention all the little toys that go along with it such as boats, motorcycles, Arby’s, ATVs, and any other toys you can think of.

  3. So, if they didn’t drive EVs, the carbon footprint would be even bigger. This doesn’t sound like a problem with EVs, but rather one of overconsumption by the wealthy. It also seems likely that EV owners are using EVs to justify activities that have a larger carbon footprint (i.e., air travel)–i.e., “well *of course* we can go to Europe, Dear. We have an EV, so we’ve done our part to save the planet.”
