Russia’s drive in one battlefront has *unfortunately* cost it ~~a staggering~~ *only* 1,800 “combat” vehicles.
Can’t imagine Russia being more mobile than the cheapest stuff on the frontlines for much longer. Pretty soon that T-32 is going to turn into Uncle Dimi’s modified artillery horse carriage.
Which is likely worth it for Putin, if he captures Pokrovsk and therefor most of Donbas.
Thats the problem with half-assing support. You dont deterrent the dictator to do such things again and again, if you dont stop him from reaching his goals. And his goals were never to make Russia a better place for russians. The goal of the russian army isnt to keep thier tanks, to keep thier soldiers alive. They are just tools to get used without care.
