Celine Dion’s showstopping Olympics performance is slammed as ‘FAKE’ and pre-recorded in extraordinary row in France

her performace was amazing but i do remember wondering at the time, given all the medical issues she’d had. it would make sense to record it during rehearsal so it goes off without a hitch later on.
Why’s it matter? I’m no fan of hers, but given what she’s been through, it was an incredible performance by any measure.
Why is this a problem now? The show was 2 months ago with probably hundreds if not thousands of people in the audience recording her live. Given her history and how monumental this moment was for her I don’t have an issue if she used a prerecorded backup track, but nothing “new” has come out in the past 2 months to prove it was fake, so why write an article now?
So we’ve gone from being afraid she’d never sing again to criticizing her for pre-recording a performance? I’m sure the criticism is overblown anyway, seems like the newspaper publishing the report is just alluding to industry professionals concluding the audio is pre-recorded.
