  1. Jesus Christ. Whoever’s fault it was, nobody deserved this outcome. The grandfather will never forgive himself. A child should never have been sitting behind him, there should have been anybody else on the quad except the grandfather at all.

  2. Actually know the family involved in this, we know them from when we go on holidays. Lovely people but I still remember the call we got to tell us what happened seriously one of the most terrible things I’ve ever had the displeasure of hearing, article (rightfully so) doesn’t do it justice.

    Absolute tragedy, Rest in Peace.

  3. Horrifying. I cringe when I see children sitting up on lawnmowers/any type of heavy machinery.

  4. I grew up on a farm and looking back we did some bat shit crazy things as kids. There’s so many dangerous elements on a farm, for all the good that had been done to inform people and improve health and safety, always seems to be some tragic deaths.

Shocking tragedy for the family, from reading the article seems like he was driving slow on the quad and the kid jumped off it and the mower he was pulling was the cause of the death. I know it’s easy to look in hindsight but christ there are times you just can’t explain how somethings happen and in a split second it’s too late.

From reading the headline I thought the quadbike tipped off or something.

  5. Jesus Christ. That’s heartbreaking. Tragic as it is at least it was instant.

4 people on a quad is madness. Living on a farm you forget how dangerous all the things you do daily is
