Awesome awesome shots! We went to Lackford Lakes last year and sat for a couple hours just to see one of these guys. They flew off before I managed to get my DSLR out. But I did manage to snap [this](https://imgur.com/a/ZexHB3f) with my iPhone 👌🏻

I have seen a kingfisher in the wild once. It was the briefest flash of that amazing blue over a stream… (Also had an owl swoop low overhead when I was cycling along in the dark a few hundred metres from that spot, a few years later.)
