Thank you everyone who replied to the previous post

I’ve added more depth and I feel like a lot of people helped so I wanted to share the finished article

  1. Do not throw this away!!!

It looks ace and if art is something you’re going to continue with, it’s always cool to look at where you started – and your start is a thousand times better than what I could ever do!

I hope you post more in the future!

  2. Duuude (or dudette) don’t throw this away. Love the naive art style!
Have you looked at r/acrylicpainting? Not sure what medium this is, but you’re sure to find a sub-reddit for it.
    Keep on painting!

  3. I’m ngl, I kinda dig it. It’s not giving “I’m an adult that paints like a child” but more “this is my artistic style”.

The eyes especially, remind me of some lino artwork that I’m into.

I’d hang it up on my wall tbh.

  4. What a lovely picture. The jaguar (I saw your previous post!) has such an earnest expression. It’s valuable to look back at previous work and see your journey. This is an adorable starting point – enjoy!

  5. It dose look like the tiger Sean lock used.
Tiger goes to a pub i think it’s called.
Should make a children’s book lol

Op I’ve been trying to teach myself drawing animals with a how to book. I drew such a derpy tiger it was just horrific but he’s become somewhat charming and I’ve since drawn a better one I like your picture, I like the colours it’s fun and adorable. Always keep trying art is a fabulous way to show self expression and I firmly believe everyone has good art within them. If you look at my pic you can see the difference and I really enjoy seeing g progress in new artists so I shall keep my eye out for more of your stuff

This is good art keep going

  7. I love this reminds me of the ‘Charlie says’. Safety and prodigy video’s. Giving me fond memories of the 90’s

  8. I did a 6-week acrylic painting course.

1st day, warm-up exercise, teacher said, just do anything you want.

I just did some curves with different colours.

    Thought nothing of it.

Girlfriend made me frame it, and countless people have commented on how good it is.

We are our own worst critics. Painting demonstrates that often.

    Keep everything you paint!

  9. Have you considered some kind of clearcoat over the eyes so that it reflects a little bit? i think that would be cool 😀

  10. IDon’t get rid of it and keep painting. Paintings are like bookmarks in your life. One day you’ll appreciate the bookmark.

  11. This is really stylised and cute too. You’ll look back and be really proud of the progress you’ve made but also with fondness and appreciation for what you achieved with this painting. I still have my earliest sketches and paintings and at the time I thought they were terrible but as time went on I begun to value them in measures beyond how they looked at first glance. It’s like a window in the past.

Keep going, I’ve been at it myself for 15 years and the joy is in the journey, not the destination 🙂

  12. No joke – if I saw this in a shop (and it wasn’t thousands of £) I would legit buy it because it speaks to me! I love it!

  13. If this was the cover to a children’s book I saw in a bookstore then I would be absolutely looking further.

It gives off a ‘this could be a really cute read that is very wholesome’

    But also

‘Is this one of those kids books that’s actually really rude?’

    I love it.
