  3. Hear me out: strategically, doesn’t it make sense to leave the bridge intact until Ukraine can isolate and push into Crimea leaving a route for Russian troops and Russian nationals/sympathizers to flee back into Russia and then blow the bridge?

  10. Mr. Aslund refers to Donald Trump as "Putin's close friend," forgetting that Barack Obama didn't do a damned thing after Vladimir Vladimirovich occupied Crimea in 2014.

  13. It is weird that the Republican Party doesn’t realize it’s in a new Cold War and they are rooting for the wrong side-against western interests; against the USA. More so, their not shedding a drop of blood but their sons and daughters will if Ukraine loses.

    Boris Johnson lied about his crazy plans for Brexit, people believed Johnsons lies and Johnson became UK Prime Minister…
    Boris Johnson was calculating trump would win in 2020, would bully the EU, threatening US sanctions against the EU and so allowing Johnsons crazy plans to succeed.

    EU did not agree to Johnsons plans
    Johnsons Brexit failed and he was thrown out of political office
    trump will fail again in November 2024
    Putin will fail to overcome Ukraine
    Putin will not be thrown out of office
    Putin will be thrown out of a window

  15. I love that Ukraine is making strides to reclaim Crimea. I was getting the feeling that Putin was going to be allowed to keep it, before the second part of the invasion, and I always thought that was wrong.

  16. If Putin is thinking he will wait and get a good deal from Trump he is dreaming, Trump is a mercenary when it comes to deals, he will squeeze Putin till the pips squeak. He will go full out arming Ukraine as his first step, to get as much leverage as possible, expect him to announce a full blown weapons transfer and loans to Ukraine before he even picks up the phone to Putin. First rule of making the deal, put your opposition in as bad as a position as you can before beginning the dealing, expect trump to know how to do that. But Trump also knows this war has to end, that making arms companies rich in neverendum wars does not help the American people, nor the Ukrainian and Russian people, but always remember it was Trump who armed Ukraine with the Javelin missiles when no one else had the guts to do so, the Germans and Europe were sos scared of Putin, buying his gas and oil.

    you you say Putin is Trump's close friend. I don't think you really mean that. Yes they can have some points of agreement that make it possible maybe in the future to scratch each other's back. But how close a friendship can there be between two people who have no language in common? Every word between the two of them has probably two translators interposed . This is not a friendship. This is about as close a friendship as Molotov and Ribbentrop.

  21. You are a big a bunch of nitwits as the British General Staff in WWI. Hello! there are no more dough boys. The American Army has been shrinking every year for decades and so there literally no troops to send to fight.
