Finnish language is not nearly as hard for non-English-speakers as advertised.
Valio Aura is pretty bad blue cheese and Paulig Juhlamokka is bad coffee.
Finns can not stand against the truth, so never ever.
Anti social my ass.
Finnish gambling culture is not normal and incredibly weird seeing how conscious society is or tries to be about alcohol, tobacco and drug use.
Salmiakki is fucking garbage
Salted butter is dumb, regular normal butter shouldn’t cost that much more.
We are not the happiest country in the world nor we are all rich
Iittala sticker stays on.. or not?
Keeping a baby’s name top secret until baptism is idiotic and on par with american gender reveals.
Fazer belongs in the fridge
I really enjoy the darkness in Finland when I come for a visit
There’s no special “sisu” in Finland. Most of us, myself included, are really kinda whiny.
Yes
We are not a fully Western country (I mean culturally, not politically) and that’s ok.
Finland was not an independent democracy during Kekkonen reign of 1956-1982.
Finland and Finnish culture is not so unique as we Finns love to think.
Finnish should be the only official language in Finland.
Finland was destined to be a Kingdom like other nordics.
Finns hype oats way too much. Oatmeal, oatmilk, oat-bread and the rest are not actually that healthy for you.
I can not speak for Finland as whole, but in my opinion this describes well Etelä-Suomea, (for example Riihimäki, Hämeenlinna).
1. If you are even slightly different you won’t belong. By being different I do not mean different clothes or tattoos.. I mean if you hold yourself differently, have different opinion and views, have different attitude. 2. You are held guilty if you do not do enough for the country, and you will be shamed if you work hard and make something out of yourself – ‘narcissistic bastard’. Finns are incredibly envious and passive agressive. If you have good news, do not share them. 3. Rich people are more humble and down to earth, easier to have a regular concersation with, than ‘poor’ people in adult hood. (I do not come from wealthy family myself, and do not possess wealth). In childhood you can get bullied though if you do not have money. 4. There is a lot of shame, guilt, bullying and toxicity in the culture 5. For a really well educated country a lot of children are not capable express themselfs properly.

Personal space and silence. “Shut the fuck up and leave me alone”, kinda thing you know
Finland didn’t lose the winter war
Salmiakki is amazing
1918 wrong side won
Finns don’t like constructive criticism from foreigners/immigrants
Ice hockey, Vesku Loiri, Spede and Kummeli are all crap
The only reason why I could argue Finland is not the happiest country in the world is that there are so many whiny cunts who think themselves living in south sudan, and they artificially deflate happiness
The rest of us live the blessed and amazing lives we do in Finland because of what Finland is.
It’s not at all necessary to make a campfire when you are hiking/hunting/fishing. On the contrary, it can be very harmful if you do it during forest fire alert and/or outside specially marked places.
Finland was not allied with nazis during WW2.
Mämmi is not a good Easter desert, I have tried to like it for so many years I just can’t eat it
