  1. We focus on things evolving into crab shapes, but convergent evolution has many favourite shapes that it has evolved independently in many families of animals: the worm/snake shape(snakes, legless lizards, caecilians, worms), the anteater shape (tube mouth, long tongue, sometimes spines or scale-like structures), the bird/bat form (pterosaurs, bats, birds, flying insects), fish-shapes (fish, ichtyosaurs, whales, dolphins), mouse shapes (true mice, marsupial mice,), rabbit shapes animals (rabbits, bilby’s, small wallaby’s). That is just some I’ve come up with off the top of my head, and there are probably more examples in each category I’ve listed.
