Australian tanks will make a ‘significant difference on the battlefield’ for Ukraine

The Australian government will donate 49 of the army’s Abrams tanks to Ukraine to boost its war effort against Russia.

Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles says this is a “significant contribution” to Ukraine’s war efforts.

“We will stay with Ukraine for as long as it takes for Ukraine to resolve this conflict on its own terms, and this will not be the last contribution we make,” Mr Marles told Sky News Australia.

“These tanks are in good condition; they will be able to make a significant difference on the battlefield.”

  20. To fight a more successful war, you need a group of military experts in strategy and weaponry to provide input as to the best way to conduct defense with minimal expense. One man can not know it all,

    Have you seen many Russian Tanks recently captured on display in the West? Nope. But plenty of Western captured tanks on display at Patriots Park outside of Moscow, including Aussie Bushmasters and US Abrams.

  35. They will make no difference at all . The Western powers should not have sabotaged the peace agreement that Russia & Ukraine signed in March/April 2022. If that went ahead Ukraine would still have its eastern provinces (guaranteed under that agreement) but now they'll never get them back. That's 4 million+ people (mainly Russian speakers) & the productive industrial centres of the Ukraine now in Russian hands. Well done Western politicians, particularly Boris Johnson who twisted Zelenski's arm. As the U.S politician said when the conflict began: 'we will fight the Russians to the last Ukrainian'. The Ukrainian parliament is now considering the conscription of 18-25 year olds. Why?… Because there's no one left to fight.

Where does all this money come from, should it not be spent on health care, education, housing, homeless & impoverished Australians? Untold $millions to Ukraine, $85mill to hamas barbarians. What's next, $millions to Chyna, Nth. Korea, Pakistan, Afghanistan?
