Liam Payne, the former One Direction singer, has died, aged 31.
The singer was in Buenos Aires and fell from a third-floor balcony, Reuters and ABC have reported.
Payne rose to fame after appearing on the X Factor in 2010 when the group was formed.
The group, whose members included Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik, were one of the best selling boy bands of all time, with hits including “What Makes You Beautiful”. They broke up in 2016.
Payne dated former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole from 2016 to 2018, and the pair had a son together called Bear.
The singer had been dating influencer Kate Cassidy since October 2022.
The pair had travelled to Argentina to attend a show of former bandmate Horan on Oct 2.
