  1. It hasn’t doubled yet? Give it time, give it time.

Absolute shambles the A9 project. Can’t work out if it’s general incompetence, or if it’s just because it’s not for the Central Belt. Possibly both.

  2. The way we build roads in Scotland is fundamentally broken.

The A9, A96 and Aberdeen bypass together are expected to cost about 10 billion by the time all three projects are completed.

    10 billion.

That is more than the value of the entire Dutch Navy. On 3 roads. Covering about 350 miles.

It is absolute lunacy. The whole process needs a complete overhaul.

If only we had had a party in charge of planning for the best part of 20 years with ambitions for major projects which might have thought to address the situation.

  3. A mile of UK motorway costs £30 million per mile.

    So 350 miles £10.5 Billion

    So average cost.

But let’s all bleat about the SNP 🐑🐑🐑
