  1. Vietnam War very few Americans captured. Most executed. Usaf pilots were were saved. Bargaining chip. Infantry or Marines killed. No prisoners taken.american. after a while Americans returned the favor. Land and air…

  2. This can have one of two effects.

    1. Mass demoralization of the military because of this OR

    2. They start to fight until the last man because who wants to be executed, better to go down swinging.

The latter almost always happens. Even in WWII. There weren’t many prisoners in the Pacific Theatre and hell even the SS has a take no prisoners policy in the German army, which was always returned to them in kind.

  3. From what I’ve seen of Russia, its going to be a ploy to enrage the Ukrainians into executing Russian prisoners of war..

Knowing they will get executed will stop a lot of Russians deserting.

  4. Because it can. Because West 16 years gave Russia money and technologies for this.

As it was in late 19th century, 1920-1930s, 1970s.

Russia revive from the West resources for wars = Russia do war crimes.

  5. The short-term public and Global reaction from killing prisoners is less than the long-term backlash of constantly returning POws emaciated, crippled, mentally destroyed or all of the above.

  6. If Russia won’t observe the Geneva Convention then I would not either. War has no “moral high ground”. The side which is the most ruthless wins…

  7. I didn’t even need another reason to hate Russia but here it is. FUCKING ANIMALS!

  8. After the war, these people will be found where ever they hide.

I doubt that when the justice comes it will involve a court.

  9. Russia is also saying to their own troops “Don’t surrender to Ukraine or they will kill you like this” and also “Don’t surrender or you will be put on trial for murders like this”.
