James O’Brien responds to claims he’s ‘stirring up hatred’ with ‘anti-Israel rhetoric’ | LBC

James O’Brien responds to texts from listeners claiming he’s ‘stirring up a tsunami of hatred’ because of his comments on Israel’s behaviour.

‘Janet’s just heard me celebrating the Hamas leader’s elimination, mourning the carnage of Palestinian civilians and condemning the decision to demand land be occupied illegally by Israelis’, he says.

James also discusses the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who ‘masterminded’ the October 7th attacks last year.

Sinwar was confirmed dead by Israel’s foreign minister on Thursday following DNA testing on bodies recovered at the scene.

Israel’s defence minister, Yoav Gallant, took to Twitter following a ground operation by the IDF, writing: “We will reach every terrorist – and eliminate him” adding soon after “our enemies cannot hide.”

  1. From reliable sources: The same Palestinian citizens who welcomed the real jewish refugees from Europe. Did not welcome the non-Jewish pretenders who changed their names on their new Palestinian Passports then to Jewish names.

  2. First they came for the real journalists. Then the socialist, and those that spoke out. How unfortunate that the Jewish people are taken down this road again, but on the other side of the ledger.

  3. Netanyahu's party, Likud, has always regarded the west bank as part of Israel and is adamantly opposed to a Palestinian state. This is in their charter and is a foundational belief of Likud. So we shouldn't be surprised that many of members of Likud extend this view to Gaza. Of course there is no intention to offer Palestinians equal citizenship in such an expanded state. As regards the status of Palestinians Likud is an apartheid party.

  4. Imagine IF the Speaker of the House of Commons had a chat with the Leader of the Labour Party and prevented the Scottish Government opposition day motion to force a Gazza Ceasefire on the House of Commons? Imagine IF Sir Lindsey Hoile gave that 1 in 3 per year motions by the SNP to Labour so they could veto that vote? No imagination is required. That happened, and so will Scottish Indpendence and Irish Unity. England, Brexit off and become a Nation again before the people of Scotland do that for you by dissolving our political union called the UK.

  5. Ironically Janet is implicitly admitting Israel is stirring hatred of Jews (as some Jews have actually stated), but projecting it onto James. For James only stated what Israelis officials have said they plan to do to the Palestinians. (Are these Jewish political officials antisemitic Janet?)

  6. James is telling the truth. If people don't like him doing that, you have to ask why. 'Resettlement of Gaza' means taking all of if for themselves. Expelling and/or killing all Palestinians. They are already doing this systematically in the West Bank, so nobody should be surprised. The facts speak for themselves.
