Planes struggle to land at Heathrow as Storm Ashley hits UK

Planes at Heathrow Airport have been seen getting blown around by the 80mph winds of Storm Ashley this morning (20 October).

A number of flights from the like of BA and Virgin Atlantic were seen by Big Jet TV making their approach, sometimes sideways, before struggling to touch down in the bluster.

Storm Ashley is “likely” to bring a threat of injuries and danger to life, the Met Office has said, with weather warnings issued across the UK.
The storm is the first named storm of the year.

  1. I’m about an hour from Heathrow. Went to the beach a few hours ago and just come back from the evening dog walk. No coat need, and not a single bit of wind. What a load of rubbish.

  2. Ah yes the unemployed plane lovers who didn’t have it in them to become actual pilots or engineers but “ooooh look the plane flies”

  3. And this is what the lovie brigade forget, how they attacked innocent men and woman, girls and boys, slaughtered some took others hostage, some still being held hostage, and the lovie brigade forgiving the wrong side.

  4. Get a grip, stop catastrophising a bit of wind. Since when did we start giving storms names? For crying out loud we are not Americans, we are British, we do stoicism.
