Sending energy from Australia to Singapore
Moving clean energy from places that can make a lot of it to the areas that need it is a game changer. Could a really, really long high voltage cable bring solar power from Australia to Singapore?

Zu meiner Vorstellung von einem romantischen Ausflug gehört jetzt die Buchung eines Hotelzimmers mit Verdunkelungsvorhängen und einem Kingsize-Bett. Ah, der Luxus des ungestörten Schlafs🍒
TGEY ARE DOING THAT
Just use nuclear… Instead of using that much copper for that with gigantic losses
It should be cheaper to move people from Singapore to Australia.
What if we build floating photovoltaic above that subsea cable and connect the cable from floating photovoltaic to the subsea cable?
Malaysia has oodles of land and miles closer
I thought this video dated back to 2014 but it isn't. Well, you're ten years too late. All local governments have moved on to another solution to do just that without resorting to subsea cables: H _ _ _ _ _ _ N.
In Western Europe, we already have something similar but smaller scale. There are several undersea connections, for example, from Norway to Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands amd the UK. The longest of these is 720km, though; a far cry from the 4200km needed here.
