Russia escalating hybrid warfare in Europe: Latvian president

RIGA, Latvia — Russia’s “hybrid warfare” against Europe is growing more intense, said Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics, who leads one of the Baltic states bordering Russia, in an interview with Nikkei at the presidential office. He stressed that, in the face of Moscow’s invasion, the only viable security guarantee for Ukraine is to join NATO.Hybrid warfare employs a combination of tactics, including assassination, disinformation, terrorism and cyberattacks. While these operations do not involve military action, they aim to destabilize and damage the target nation through violence and sabotage.
